Invitation for cooperation on photobook of preventing child sexual abuse

Invited Partner: Center for Studies and Applications of Gender, Family and Children Adolescents (CSAGA). CSAGA is a non-governmental, non-profit organization established in 2001 with the main activities to promote the exercise of the rights of women and children affected by stigma and gender-based violence in Viet Nam. by creative methods.

Project: Producing picture books on sexual abuse prevention for children.

1. Why does CSAGA want to make a picture book about child sexual abuse?

- The safety of women and girls has never been as worrying as in the past few years. Information about sexual abuse of children appears in the media. According to a report by the General Department of Police of the Ministry of Public Security, in 5 years (2011 - 2015), the country has detected over 8,200 child abuse cases, with nearly 10,000 victims, of which the number of sexual abuse cases is 5,300 service. This number is just the reported cases. Most victims are female children, accounting for 84%, the average age is from 13 to 18. Recently, there have been many cases of sexual abuse of children victims aged 5-13. , including victims from 1-3 years old. In 2016, there were 1,024 child sexual abuse cases, accounting for 77% of child abuse cases. However, that is just the case reported or detected.

- Sexual abuse has serious consequences for the physical and mental health of children: Children have difficulty integrating into the community, causing severe genital trauma, Many children who have been abused suffer from panic disorder, feeling ill-feeling (feeling unsettled, startled, etc.)

- That is why we understand that tools are needed to provide knowledge and skills so that children and supportive people can identify and respond to the risks of sexual abuse. And with the expectation of an attractive, lively, easy-to-understand toolkit with the children and direct supporters such as family and school, we plan to produce 2 sets of picture books. One set for children and one set for parents, school teachers.

- Have experience in the field of graphic design

- Concerned about social issues, especially sexual abuse of children.

4. Provisions on the work of the selected entity:

4.1. Make sure the image is never published and used anywhere

4.2. When completing the product, the image rights belong to CSAGA

4.3. During the production co-operation does not use the design to participate in any other activities.
