Training conference “ Voluntary activities”

The project “ Building Volunteers’ group of supporting victims of Domestic Violence in Hanoi” had carried out from November 2008, and had been gotten a lot of significant results (which were specifically presented in the report sent to American Embassy and shown in the “ Quick report on the project activities: Building Volunteers’ group of supporting victims of Domestic Violence.” This project was supported and joined by the members of the voluntary group. Even though being busy with their own lives, the members still enthusiastically participated in the project activities. In the CSAGA’s hall, the first training conference had taken place with the members’ participation in the March 13, 2009. Ms. Nancy Nay from Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Ms Nguyen Van Anh and Ms. Hoang Thi Kim Thanh from CSAGA were the trainers for this training conference.

In the training conference, some members of the volunteer group were provided with the fundamental knowledge of volunteer activities. By this way, the ones who have been provided with much more beneficial knowledge of the volunteer activities, and perceived more value, spirit and role of the volunteer as well in all activities of social life in general and the voluntary activities supporting for the survivors of domestic violence in particular.

Also, the members listened to Ms. Nancy Nay’s sharing of voluntary activities in American, one of the leading countries owning the developing voluntary activities, by which the volunteer group could understand more about the volunteer activities in all over the world, then they could get more useful experience to apply in the Vietnam volunteer activities.

In addition, the participants found more about the fact of domestic violence happening in Vietnam and in the world, the group’s activities recently, and then they discussed and gave out the action direction for the group in the following years.
